LRHS Band News and Notes

Hello LRHS Band Families,

Here are the new announcements for this week:

Spring Trip payments:  The final cost for the Symphonic Band spring trip is $985 per student. The fifth and final payment for students is $75.

The final cost for the Intermediate/Concert Band spring trip is $648 per student. The fourth and final payment for students is $108.

All payments are due by this Friday, Feb. 28. Please check your Charms account to see what, if anything, is owed. Payments can be made online in Charms, mailed to Dawn D’Bella at 10120 Second Star Ct, Raleigh, NC 27613, or put in the band lock box.

This year’s MPA (Festival) Concert for all three bands will be held on Friday, March 6th, at 7 pm. Following the concert is a reception for the students, families, and our guests. We’ll need your help to make this a memorable time for all.

  • Each family is asked to bring a tray of finger-food desserts already placed on a serving dish. Simply drop off your item on your way into the concert, and then take your serving dish home with you when you leave. (Any leftovers will be brought to the band studio for the students to enjoy the next school day.)
  • We need volunteers to help with the reception itself. You will not miss any of the concert. The work is easy and fun and goes quickly with enough helpers. If you are available to help, please sign up by Monday, March 2nd:  Festival Concert Reception Volunteers

Thank you for your willingness to make the Festival Concert reception a great success. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Beth Warkentin (beth.wark@yahoo.com)

LRMS Band is hosting a “Meet the Instruments Night” on Monday, March 2. This is an opportunity for potential new students who will enter middle school next year to come and hear, try out and see the different options. They would love to have 2 high school band students to assist current middle school students at each station. Music and Arts will be providing instruments for the evening and the LRMS band will provide all necessary cleaning products for each station.  HS students do not need to bring their own instrument unless they prefer to use their own. Each HS student will receive 2 hours of volunteer service credit. Please use this link to sign up: LRMS Meet the Instruments Night. Please contact Michelle Cash (chefleone@yahoo.com) if you have any questions.
