Hello LRHS Symphonic Band Families,
Here are the new/important announcements for this week:
This year’s MPA (Festival) Concert for all three bands will be held THIS Friday, March 6th, at 7 pm. Following the concert is a reception for the students, families, and our guests. We’ll need your help to make this a memorable time for all.
- Each family is asked to bring a tray of finger-food desserts already placed on a serving dish. Simply drop off your item on your way into the concert, and then take your serving dish home with you when you leave. (Any leftovers will be brought to the band studio for the students to enjoy the next school day.)
- We need volunteers to help with the reception itself. You will not miss any of the concert. The work is easy and fun and goes quickly with enough helpers. If you are available to help, please sign up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: Festival Concert Volunteer Sign Up
Thank you for your willingness to make the Festival Concert reception a great success. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Beth Warkentin (beth.wark@yahoo.com)
LRMS Band is hosting a “Meet the Instruments Night” TOMORROW (Monday, March 2). This is an opportunity for potential new students who will enter middle school next year to come and hear, try out and see the different options. They would love to have 2 high school band students to assist current middle school students at each station. Music and Arts will be providing instruments for the evening and the LRMS band will provide all necessary cleaning products for each station. HS students do not need to bring their own instrument unless they prefer to use their own. Each HS student will receive 2 hours of volunteer service credit. Please use this link to sign up: Meet the Instruments Night. Please contact Michelle Cash (chefleone@yahoo.com) if you have any questions.
Please come out and help support the performing arts at LRHS! The LRHS Chorus students will be performing at the Leesville Tap Room Restaurant Night on Tuesday, March 3. You can dine between 6:00 and 9:00 PM (live music 6 to 8 pm) – 20% of your sale will be donated back to Leesville Road High School Chorus Performing Arts Booster Club when you mention you are there to support the LRHS Chorus!
Photobooks – Rob Clark will be offering photobooks again this year! They are customized per student; his goal is to show the story of your student as an individual as well as in context with the rest of the band for 2019-2020. The price is $36 per photobook. He relies on bulk ordering to achieve this cost, so encourages you to place your order by March 31. Please send any questions to clarkrob@hotmail.com. To order and pay, use one of the following methods: a) Include a check made out to Rob Clark or cash, plus student name and your email address, in an envelope. Send in to school to give to Devin. Or give to Rob at the Festival (MPA) Concert on Friday. b) Paypal: send as friend to clarkrob@hotmail.com. Rob will acknowledge each order via email. Order deadline: Place your order by March 31 to receive the photobook at the band banquet in May and guarantee the above price.
Snacks for Orlando Trip – donations appreciated! – The Spring Trip is a little more than a month away now!
