2. Hospitality Request – Winter Concert Receptions
We are all excited for the LRHS Bands’ winter concerts next week. Following each concert is a reception for the students, families, and our guests to celebrate the students’ hard work. We need two things from each band family to make these receptions following the concerts happen….
a) Each family is asked to bring a tray of cookies, brownies, or something else that can be eaten easily by hand without a utensil. At least one dozen goodies and items can be homemade or purchased. It helps us if your items are already on a serving dish. Simply drop off your item on the way into the concert and then take it home with you when you leave. (Any leftover goodies will be brought to the band studio for the students to enjoy the next school day.)
b) We need volunteers to help with their students’ band reception. You will not miss any of your students’ concerts. If you are willing to help us out please use the link below.

3. A Little Extra Christmas Music – Low brass players take note:
Mrs. Colburn received the following information about this fun upcoming event. As per our contact: “There’ll be 50-100 different tubas and euphonium players there, all playing 4 part Christmas carols. It’s both fun and hilarious!” Read on to get all the details.
The 2nd Annual Research Triangle “TUBACHRISTMAS” event is scheduled for Sunday, Dec 18, 2022. The TUBACHRISTMAS practice and performance will be held at St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Rd, in Apex, NC. The 4:00 pm performance is open to the public and free of charge.
TUBACHRISTMAS performances feature traditional Christmas carols arranged for tuba, euphonium and baritone horn players. Created by renowned American tuba artist & teacher, Harvey Phillips, TUBACHRISTMAS concerts will be presented in over 300 cities throughout the United States and in foreign countries this holiday season. Phillips was inspired to create TUBACHRISTMAS to honor his teacher and mentor, William Bell, born on Christmas Day, 1902. Now an established Christmas tradition around the world, TUBACHRISTMAS is celebrating its 49th Anniversary
(1974-2022).
All low brass players are welcome to play in the group. Registration for musicians ($10.00) starts at 1:00 pm, rehearsal at 2:00 pm, followed by the performance at 4:00 pm. Details for the Research Triangle, NC TUBACHRISTMAS (as well as all other TUBACHRISTMAS

NOTE: Please bring a folding music stand/lyre and dress in bright festive holiday colors. Decorate your instrument. The church has invited all musicians & their families to a reception following the performance. Participant registration is $10.00.

This is a unique opportunity for young low brass musicians to participate along-side other students & accomplished musicians, or attend a performance they will never forget! The coordinator will have music books available for purchase at registration ($25). They use the same music books every year which contain 34 Christmas Carols arranged in 4-part harmony (2 baritone and 2 tuba lines), and are available in both Bass Clef and Treble Clef.

4. Fruit and Flower Fundraiser Delivery Update:

5. CB and SB Spring Trip Reminder:
Third Disney trip payment was due by Monday, December 5.
The third payment of $250 was due 12/5. Checks made payable to LRHS Bands can be sent to school with your student and placed in the band room safe. Payments can also be made via PayPal: Making Payments via PayPal

6. Reminder when placing orders the RaiseRightGift Cards:
Please remember to order the digital version of these gift cards when placing your orders. We have to pay extra money when physical cards are ordered. 7. Uniforms – Concert and Intermediate Band:
For students that placed a tuxedo attire order (or sent in an alteration) with Savvi Formalwear, your tuxedo item(s) are ready to be picked up from Savvi. When you pick up the tuxedo, please bring your band student and their formal wear shoes to try on with the tuxedo to confirm fit and hem. Savvi will perform alterations at no additional cost.
Most students have already paid for their tuxedos. If you have not already paid, the payment will be due in full directly to Savvi at the time of pickup. No appointment is necessary.
